Peace of Mind is more than just a name, it is a promise. My name is Sharon Fenderson, a native Arizonan and founder of Peace of Mind, and my service is dedicated to providing you and your pet with a sigh of relief in an otherwise hectic world … that Peace of Mind that is so hard to come by.
In my philosophy of business, I prefer to use the word ‘guardian’ instead of owner, as I feel that it better reflects the human/animal bond that exists today. Guardian denotes a higher level of responsibility and supports that bond. To quote Edwin Sayers of the ASPCA, "The term 'guardian' accurately describes the relationship of perpetual care that is needed to teach children respect, compassion, and kindness for domestic pets." I was honored to echo that sentiment and air my philosophy that, "A child who honors animals will in turn honor their fellow human beings," on local radio for child education.
There will always be times when pet guardians must delegate care of their pets and are faced with the dilemma of locating a caregiver who will replicate the habits of home. My services can resolve that problem for you. Pets vary as widely as people, and I understand that not all pets are cuddly little puppies or kittens. Many pets have very special needs. I honor those needs by respecting all aspects of their care and administering treatments as necessary with an open heart and loving hands.
References from my current clients are always available. I know that my many satisfied pet guardians will confirm that your pet will be in the best hands possible besides your own.
My background
A BS in Home Economics with a minor in Business was obtained from Arizona State University in 1984. Upon graduation from ASU, I served as a flight attendant (Piedmont/U.S. Airways) based out of Baltimore, Maryland, for 11 years and as flight attendant supervisor for two years. On my days off as a flight attendant, I was also a substitute teacher, assisting children with the D.A.R.E. program activities, and I wrote a children's book, The Little Pink Rose.
In 1998, I initiated a program with the Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills, Arizona, entitled, "Blessing of the Animals." Later this program merged with that of the Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.
